Yeah, going chronologically from Kill onwards seems like a good way to get to know the band's most contemporary stuff.

Sampled a handful of their songs from the 90s and I gotta admit I'm way more into their modern sound

Their recent releases have a more modern approach and are technically more challenging. However, when I revisited the guys' discography these past few days I really enjoyed the classic stuff too, such as The Bleeding.

"The notorious American cannibal gang has been accumulating dead bodies for three decades now in an unprecedented killing spree."

That got a good chuckle out of me and reminded me of that joke band Kalashnikov, great review. I'll be listening to this later on but damn, so far I'm loving that album cover as it feels like a good throwback to their 90s stuff

Thanks, Shuyin.

Yeah, the artwork is reminiscent of their 90's stuff, and even the chromatic palette is brighter if you compare it to the post-Kill covers.

Bleeding is still my favourite, just so catchy and flows so well.

Bloodthirst, KILL, Skeletal and this are my favourite 'modern' Cannibal albums.

This definitely feels a bit more like a refined version of Red Before Black overall. Some technicality re-injected, a bit more menacing. Paul's drumming is especially good on this one as well, seems like he has a lot more dynamic moments and good fills.

Quite fitting as he said this album was his most challenging to record, he does a great job here.

Yeah, he said the songs, especially Erick's, were very challenging.

best tracks i think are inhumane harvest (unsurprisingly), overtorture, ritual annihilation and surround kill devour

Overtorture is fine but yeah, those other 3 are definitely highlights.

Condemnation Contagion and Cerements are up there as well.

overtorture kinda gives me a mix of headlong into carnage and rabid which are two of my favourite cannibal tracks so maybe just hits my personal preference best

condemnation contagion is especially good too ye

CC is literally the only metal band in existence who's later material sounds better than anything they've ever done.

Gallery Of Suicide and Bloodthirst are their best efforts IMHO. They've been treading water ever since.

I like those two albums quite a bit already, would put them right after the latest albums in a ranked list. I still say their first couple albums are the weakest.
