I don't know a damn thing about this band but I can safely say that's one of the best album covers I've seen in a long, long time.

“ idk the album before this is a good bit more grandiose and feels like its pushing their sound in at least slightly more adventurous and epic territory, where this is the most "dgd-lite" theyve ever sounded, which i dont rlly mind that much bc its still fun and solid but its for sure a regression from where they were last record”
You’re totally right. But, I guess I’m just not looking for “progression.” I’m fine with it being what it is, and I’ll enjoy it until something else comes along.

If we’re not careful, the argument over the album art will become more heated than the music itself

I am liking this much more than Afterburner. I do have to agree though, the new DGD songs for better or worse are much more memorable than things on this. This album just plays things so safe.
I would compare this to a more heavy and noodly version of Emarosa's self titled album. Not because they necessarily sound the same, but because their impact is similar: The album is solid and consistent throughout the entirety of the listen, but nothing necessarily stands out or is particularly memorable.
