I like Nightmares alot but Ruins vocals seem strained. I don't like them.

They're going in the studio this July to make a new album. : D That's 3 albums in 3 years ontop of the split ep. Shit, I'm psyched.

The split ep tracks better not be on the new album.

Tbh dude I don't think they'll do that. Apparently they are re-recording a song from nightmares. And Sam used to drum for a band.

this album is basically just a better version of something norma jean would put out.

I think it'd place O'God above this but not Nightmares.

I don't think anything Norma Jean has done could touch Ruin

yeah, o' god is way better than this. i'd even say bless the martyr is too. but this kicks the shit out of redeemer.

anyway, nightmares is a lot better than this one.

Its a sick album. Some of the riffs are just insane.

Comparing them to Norma Jean is a bit OTT. Architects are a lot more technical. Although I'd say O' God the Aftermath isn't as good as this IMO.

God no Bless the Martyr was absolutely terrible.

but this kicks the **** out of redeemer.

For sure.

Architects are a lot more technical.

As a band in general, yes, but I'd say O'God is abit more tech then Ruin.

I hold both albums high but the kicker for me is the production, O'God just has beautiful production (hard to explain) and Ruin has very typical production.

Also as strange as this sounds, Norma Jean writes better lyrics, mostly cause Architects writes shitty lyrics.

Ruin is very bass heavy in its production.

And I wouldn't say Architects write shitty lyrics tbh.

You're right, they aren't necessarily shitty (see: Bring Me the Horizon) but it isn't on the same level as their musicianship.

And what gets me is they are obviously progressing well, the ep rocks, but the lyrics still have the same man vs man/despair themes.

It doesn't annoy me that much but with the clean singing I pick up on it more. On We're All Alone, doesn't the clean sung lyrics go something like this, "My tears are falling....."

But hey, they're gonna get better.

They re-recorded To The Death and it sounds pretty dope, Sam does a good job on vocals and the song just sounds more powerful.

I found it released on a blog somewhere, so I don't think it's gonna be on their new album.
