yeah i really didn't avoid the "metalcore term" because metalcore is a dirty word nowadays but more because i really dont think it fits the band. one of my pet peaves nowadays is that IMO alot of hardcore bands get labeled metalcore and that description just doesn't fit, i think of metalcore as being AILD or KSE type bands. modern hardcore has alot more metal influence but when the term metalcore is to be aplied i think the sound has to have a lot more metal in it than this band has.

im usually more into metal/metalcore than straight up hardcore but im a sucker for those sweet ass guitar melodies and a bit of honest emotion

no dude im not like in 4th grade, although i think a 4th grader could come to the same conclusion about the metalcore label after reading a handful of reviews on this site, or by talking to guys in bands like unearth who helped put metalcore on the map that all of a sudden insist on the fact that they are and always have been just a metal band, and get visibly irritated if you call their band metalcore, even if it clearly is.
