I'm partial to Conducting From the Grave, but this band is indeed solid

Generic deathcore. Nothing new or innovative. Not technical, everything seems to stay in 4/4 and only a few tempo changes. If you can get past the terrible screaming then the music is only decent. This band brings nothing new to the table and regurgitate overused riffs from ABRB, WOP and SS. I give it a 2, 2.5 if they lose the terrible singer.

All it took was one song to realize how gratifying the material was. A very exceptional listening experience.

It's so damn catchy! The music is pretty good, albeit the unnecessary breakdowns, but the evangelical lyrics just ruined it for me. I can handle As I Lay Dying just fine... but when the band really starts preaching to me. Do not want.

The thing about this albums lyrical content is... its good.
Now I dislike the premise of the lyrics themselves, but its easy to warp said premise, into anything you'd like. On that note, I don't think the theme should be the off putting thing, especially when you consider how well the lyrics themselves were written. I showed the lyrics to a preacher and they couldn't divulge the praising god aspects by any means.

I think Saud's mid ranged yells add to the flow of the music. They are much harder to do than the other 2 screams and they give it more variety.
I'm a vocalist myself and hardcore yells take a lot more out of you than a growl or a high scream (Which I love his highs btw)
Even though the mids took me a little to get used to but after a while I realized how good it actually is. I think it is his best scream

I love this album so much, 4.5 easily for me. Not classic status, but still fucking amazing. I like the vocals a lot. Including the "ugly braying grunt that sounds halfway between the sound of a pig being slaughtered and the sound of a gorilla trying to eat a package of industrial nails and failing miserably", the high and low screams are amazing. Of course that is just my opinion.

the vocals and the instrumental work really do make this band stand out from most bands in the deathcore genre. they also just got signed to artery recordings, its safe to say im pretty excited to see what their sophmore is gonna be like. go with revelations, the serpents tongue and guardians if your wanting a taste of what this band has to offer.

Excellent review, great album! It made me laugh so much at the part with vocalist's voice. Cheers!

hey, this is a well written review
i agree with most of what you said, i'd also add for a 'con', the fact that the same line often repeats over and over and over
though some lines really hit hard like "the day will come when the dead will rise up from the earth"... after the 6th time it's just not as epic :P
i can't wait for this band's next album!
