Lol. I think I'll get Insomniac asap, and wait 'til the 19th for 1039 and Kerplunk to get the new versions, then if I care enough I'll get Shenanigans one day. I heard it sucks before.

That's a ghood idea waiting. I don't have those two either and I'll probably end up getting the new rereleases.

This is a very good album. Usually I don't give punk albums 4.5's, but this one earns it. I love Hitchin' a Ride, Last Ride In, and Take Back. Awesome. Awesome awesome.

I've sort of had a revival of sorts with Green Day, I've had this urge to listen to Dookie for a while...

Good review and Green Day's most consistently good album since Kerplunk. The only problem is that they could have used a few more B-Sides by taking out some songs like "Take Back", "Jinx", and "Uptight" that didn't improve or add on to their established pop-punk sound. If they had edited the CD to about 14 or so songs, the album's rating would have gone up a half-star at least...

This might be nostalgia speaking more then anything. I really love this album, i've listened to a cassette of it I had as a young kid until it wore out and broke then it was the first CD I ever bought. A lot of excellent songwriting on here, a few mediocre tracks might pad it out a bit long but otherwise it's so much fun.

Redundant and Scattered are two of my favourite Green Day songs. Plus King For A Day is fun.

For me all Green Day up until Warning is still good for listening to occassionally for nostalgia's sake.

Yeah, King For A Day rules. Made me feel so weird as a kid listening to an ode to transvestism as infectious as that :S

Warning to me was an alright album in it's own right, more low-key rock then anything else the band has done. Though some of it was awful and I can't listen to it constantly I can get behind a few of the songs on there.

I meant up to and including Warning, I agree that there are some decent tracks on it.

And yeah King For A Day was a little weird when you're younger, especially if you were with people who are singing along...

This has kinda depreciated for me...but still has some great songs. I like 1039 more. I need to give Dookie a spin too

IMO Green Day's best album, maybe it was when they turned more pop, but still, the songs are consistently great, unlike Insomniac, and have more than straight punk stuff, like Dookie.

Another gem from Green Day, I love how every albums of theirs has a different feel, when Im tired of one album I listen to another. Anyway Nimrod, all the songs range from good to plain awesome (good riddance, the grouch...) the only one I don't like is King for a Day, what can I say the band experiments and they don't decepoint as the pacing of the album is flawless even songs I didn't like I end up loving after a few listens.

This, Kerplunk, and select tracks of '1039/smoothed out slappy hours' are some of the best songs ever...

Super underrated record, and probably my personal favorite of Green Day's, even if Dookie and maaaaaaaybe Insomniac are better.
