Like, I get that i'm definitely the outlier in regards to finding Like An Ever Flowing Stream overhyped, and I don't dislike it at all. It has lots of interesting ideas, but I find that the slower doomy sections are too prevalent, and they reuse a couple of motifs which detracts from it for me, alongside it just feeling like more of a prototype for albums like this. I find it has so much working against it , and is very difficult to enjoy, but when it really does click (Skin Her Alive), it absolutely delivers.
This one, is much more of a start-to-finish pummeling, and the vocals also fit it a little better I think. This is the album where I see the "melodic death metal" tag and influences a little more prominently than their others, particularly LAEFS, where it felt doomier in places, and I think that those influences are only used sparingly here and make for a couple of nice changes of pace. The leads are absolutely orgasmic here too.
