Perfect Situation is the only reason why MB isn't a 1.
|

Perfect Situation is good too, yeah

I don't even like Beverly Hills that much really, it's nostalgia more than anything else.

Holy rating drop, Batman!

To be honest I just realized that was a Weezer song like two years ago. All I knew was that it
was on a Kidzbop soundtrack that was advertised on TV all the time back in 05
hahahahahahah exactly the same with me

If Make Believe and Raditude didn't happen, Weezer wouldn't be hated so much...instead...how bout this for an album in place of those two records:
1. Beverly Hills
2. Perfect Situation
3. This is Such a Pity
4. We Are All On Drugs
5. The Damage in Your Heart
6. Peace
7. I Want You To
8. I'm Your Daddy
9. The Girl Got Hot
10. Can't Stop Partying
That's a fine Weezer album right there. They're Not That Bad IMO...it's just kind of corny at this point.
|
| |
why would you compile some of the worst songs on those 2 albums.
beverly hills?
i'm your daddy?
the girl got hot?
can't stop partying?
those songs are the whole reason people hate them.
also you left out Haunt You Every Day.

HOLY CRAP IT'S HURLEY

Yeah, I left out haunt you...I like I'm your daddy..and the girl got hot is no different than anything else on the album - except it's catchy. It just reminded me of college when I heard it. Beverly hills - I liked it too, but I figured I'd catch a bullet for that.
Either way, the point I'm making is if you assemble the two albums into ten tracks of their strongest songs...you get a decent album. On itunes, most of the songs aren't even there except for like, a few from each...no need to waste space. hahahaha.

btw, the band doesn't seem to have a clue why they named it hurley...
rivers met hurley...and that's the pic on the cover...
but the other guitarist said he had no idea who it was until he saw the photo. he never watched the show. He said the name came from somewhere else.

so in terms of sputnik this is like weezer's recovery
|

Except Eminem didn't have as extensive a list of flops as weezer

This isn't a classic. This is a really good album by the band...but it won't change your life. I can
relate to a few of the songs - I'm 23, not 16 years old anymore...so no...I don't feel any deep
emotions or appreciate any deep messages...as I did with Recovery.

Never really bothered to listen Raditude or Red Album (the vomit-inducing singles and subsequent videos being the main reason) so I can't make a comparison there, but so far I'm enjoying this, but not as much as I did with The Blue Album. Will wait before giving a rating.
BTW does anyone know why i have 14 songs instead of 10 in the download i made?

Album Rating: 2.5
I've realized this is not a grower, but a shrinker. The more you listen to it, the worse it gets. The only lasting track is Unspoken. Somewhere bewteen 2.5 and 3 imo. Was Raditude really that bad for people to consider this a return of form?

Raditude was about 70% bad. This is about 30-40% uneventful, which isn't much better but it's something. Again the bar is pretty low these days
