A 3.3? That kind of makes me a sad panda.

I enjoyed appeal to reason but this just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it needs to grow but everytime they get a cool groove or riff going it's almost as if they panic and go straight back into a generic punk song.
Would love to see these guys just get a little bit more creative, could turn out amazing. also the fact there is no ballad here hurts the album.
"man we can all agree
megadeth endgame > this"
That album had what? 2 good songs and they all sounded the same :P

So far it's a strong 3.5, possiblity to reach 4

Don't worry about the majority Zero, you're opinion is where it's at... Unless you're wrong. ;-)
Agree about the creative comment Croc. I guess a lot of that side of things goes into the lyrics. You've heard 'Sufferer' yeah?
Good to hear LG. I thought you were gonna drop a hammer on this.

Ah well Davey, at least I agree Sufferer is their best ;)

Haha, thanks Davey. I'm not worried, I'm convinced I'm gonna like it. Nothing is certain except death, taxes, and that rise against will put out a solid record every couple years.

Just got Sufferer, I hope its good. Siren Song is good but some songs on there are filler. Maybe I just need to let it grow on me.

Still has the potential to drop, but I tend to enjoy Rise Against. So unless they pull a Fbtmof, their safe from the hammer of thor.

Zero, don't get Rise Against started on taxes. They've got bigger fish to fry at the moment.
BassDemon, be ready to click on 5: Classic.
Muchos Gracias Nate.

I disliked this even more than Appeal to Reason, which was okay. I don't like the direction they're heading in...doesn't seem like the band I fell in like with a few years ago.

I don't think there is any doubt that they are not the same band from years ago... That doesn't automatically make them bad however.

Personally I don't even think The Sufferer and the Witness was anything mind blowing. To me, each album they have released since then has been a slightly less impressive departure. Basically 3.5, 3.5, 3. The only reason this is less than the other two is because I haven't found much on here that is very catchy which (like it or not) is a rather large determining factor for bands like Rise Against

Good review Davey, listening to this for the first time now. Opener is one of the best songs they've done.

Just finished, its not as good as Appeal to Reason (which is much better than alot of people say), but its still a pretty solid release. Architects and This is Letting Go are by far the best cuts for me.

It's Appeal to Reason without the catchy choruses.
Davey, can you not hear how Disparity by Design is an almost note-for-note ripoff of Kotov Syndrome?
