Haha. Yeah, good point. I have 'Dirty Work' at a 2.5. It's better than this. Both albums were very disappointing.

If you want a good new pop-punk album, New Found Glory's latest is a pleasant surprise

There's been some good pop-punk this year, but most of it has been on the grittier/heavier end of the spectrum.

Well, at least Mayday's new album is awesome. +1 point for poppier pop punk.

I just hope All Time Low and We The Kings stop trying to be mainstream at least within the next two albums, provided they last much longer than that (they probably will, but if they continue in this direction well...)

JSF, I was actually gonna include that in my last comment. Only heard it once though. May review Mayday if I get some time on the weekend.

WTK are fine being mainstream, but not this kind of mainstream.

I'm liking Mayday's album much better on subsequent listens rather than the first. I didn't like it at first because it lacked the killer anthems that ALIR was literally crawling with. But it's still catchy (not as immediate, though) and definitely has the emotion that ABH lacked.

Okay, so ATL is definitely not gonna work out being mainstream. They just aren't the band for that kind of thing. Maybe WTK can pull it off. But I they had a better chance with their S/t than with SSoM.

Judging by the live festival I went to last Friday, ATL have a busy enough time keeping the teenage girls at bay, rather than worrying about cracking the true mainstream.

Exactly (this actually applies to both of your posts).

Totally agree andcas. In fact, I think ATL's 1st 2 releases are very under-rated.

I love how convenient rating this band is. 3, 2, then this = 1.

"sleep with me"?!?!?!@
