I saw these guys live once in NYC, and they were pretty incredible. This review makes the album sound awesome, I will definitely be listening to this.

I agree with MetallicOpeth. The end of Earth Departure is really beautiful.

I was telling a friend about Irepress when I thought to myself, Russian Circles? No, no always reminds me of something. I got home like an hour ago and put on Weightless because on a first listen it sort of passed me by.
I was looking for a comment I posted on a review site somewhere and I saw this review. Anyway, I'm high so this probably making sense... I was originally gonna say that this line summed up the album for me, and has you bookmarked for album reviews again.
"Weightless is a somewhat stripped-down version of that mixture which plays on the same strengths. There is nothing wrong with it, but if you expect progression and something truly different, you are lead to disappointment. None of this really matters, though. The album is a quality sophomore effort that proves the inspiration that gave birth to the project has not dried out, even if it does not reach the peaks found in Animals As Leaders."
I think weightless was the counterweight to their initial release. From what I understand Tosin was mostly responsible for their debut. In that he also programmed the drums. So Weightless is the first time we hear Navene, real drums, and influence from the rest of the band.
They got a new drummer who seems like a beast. Basically I give the second album a 3.9 on a 5 point scale. First being a strong 4.3. But like the quoted sentence implies only good things to come. Here's to where good music takes us.

The S/T grew off me faster than i thought it would. this on the other hand is the complete opposite.
the drums make the record. the sub-par production hinders it.

Hey apieceofpaper, get high more often, and drop by sputnik. That was a dope contribution to this
thread mate.

Still pretty disappointed in this. Especially after I payed payed 80 bucks for the cd/vinyl and hoodie preorder. The debut was so good ...
