Yeah, I was actually going to give it a 3 and definitely deserves it, but I dunno. A 2.5 came to mind before that. Didn't actually like the first 4. Alt-rock isn't particularly something I like easily, which is why I prefer their stuff pre SHIM

Fair enough, I got into prog after all the 'plebby' alt-rock bands like Foo Fighters etc. so I found this enjoyable, and still has a bit of their prog flair in there.



Burning Pieces is still an incredible song no matter what, surely?

It's the melancholy from PT and Radiohead that got me into them. Plus I really like Bruce's production style, their integration of electronic and acoustic elements and his simple solo style. Probably why I like Reaching Out the most on this.



It's alright, but it's got nothing on Nothing At Best as an opener.

Bruce's guitar playing is gorgeous. I only recently relistened to Tightly Unwound and remembered how brilliant it is, there's a unique guitar solo on pretty much every track.



You need to listen to Nosound man, they're the ultimate melancholy band.
