Having a shitty month; someone inject Ornament right into my veins. As closers go, it's insane

Frames is better but most days I'd take this over Effloresce. Oceansize were just a fantastic band.

Agreed on all points. This band was insanely good. Top 10 for me.

Sad that the most talented member of the band had to be the one to make them break up.

This album is a prime example of how they made very intricate and at times quite technical music without you (the listener) being overly aware of it, because the melodies and songwriting is so good anyway

This album in particular gives me the warm feeling of coming home.
Weirdly, also a lot of nostalgia for simpler times (childhood etc), even though i first listened to it in 2016

Let's be honest, this describes Oceansize as a whole. I miss them.

Yes but this one in particular, since it is a bit more upbeat and a little bit more "straightforward"

Agreed 100%. Probably the one band from the last two decades that I miss the most.

Quite a different style but Crippled Black Phoenix has been filling that void for me lately.

Not even remotely comparable, especially not in terms of quality imo

Not disputing any of that. Their more recent output has been really really good though.

The opener on this thing is wild as hell. What a statement for the rest of the album

Is good stuff, really good band. Frames is just on another level though and that's what I come back to 90% of the time I feel like jamming these guys

Effloresce is as good as Frames, probably better

song-for-song Frames wins every time, but Effloresce has an amazing larger-than-life atmosphere that might just be the most enduring thing in their discog
this is defs the weakest of their top 3, but that's more because it doesn't gel that well as a whole and certain tracks (Heaven Alive, Homage to a Shame and especially No Tomorrow) are a little stodgy and undisciplined in the songwriting depth. defs more of a SONG-focus here than Effloresce, but they were a little hit or miss on cutting the fat. highlights here are just wonderful
