i don't feel as though its cultural impact has much to do with my overall enjoyment of it in that, well, i seem to focus more so on the music, and it's sort of samey-sounding throughout. put any one of these songs on at a social outing and they're great to listen to, but it bores me a little when i'm listening to the entire album

I don't know... every single song off this record, as well as the LP as a whole, has such an emotional attachment to me (+ dat der nostalgia) that it's impossible to have an unbiased opinion of it; also, I think the musicianship itself is energetic, deep enough, catchy, well-rounded, etc. Overall, this would be an instant 5.0 for me. I get where you're going though.

this one time me and my mom were at a thrift shop and they had a pearl jam cd. My mom picked it up and she said "oh yeah these guys... they kinda suck" then put it back on the shelf.
