Yeah but the more I think about it I think the nature of the pandemic needs to be taken into account - it's not like we were told to take the year off, even for a musician they're probably worrying about family and friends, stressing about their finances, getting depressed from the isolation and just not in a very creative headspace.



But then if music is so important to them, you think they would double down on it during a tough time

same as Australia, I've earned more money in the last 6 months than I ever have, but I've hardly worked.

Spent about a quarter of it on vinyl which was most likely the right thing to do

I definitely wasnt making more money than usual but we were given $2000 a month, a bonus one time $1000, $300 off rent per month, and free hydro (electricity) for like 7 months and since I wasnt spending much money that was more than enough to have a nice relaxing government subsidized vacation

I wanted to move to Vancouver for a while but everyone told me it's so expensive it's almost impossible to move there without a lot of savings or a good job lined up

Vancouver is very expensive yes but iirc the major cities in Australia are just as if not more expensive so depending where you live it may be a similar hustle
