i especially love the first half on this

Man I gave this a go and I not trying to be a dick or anything but fuck this was boring and pretentious. I just don't get it please somebody explain why this is good. I honestly feel like I wasted an hour of my life on this. Some of the guitar passages here were okay I guess but they didn't go anywhere or have much of a purpose tbh best part was the song titles lol but that just adds to the pretentiousness because there was no lyrics to justify them and the music itself doesn't match them at all

which is 100% fine just jam some more noise/drone/ambient records, nocturnal. it's good shit but generally not the most immediate type of music, even when you already have an inclination towards those genres.

Boring and pretentious isn't really a fair criticism. If you find it boring then this may not be for you, but that doesn't make it pretentious. It's long, yeah, but he's trying to create a mood and an atmosphere more than an immediately entertaining song or group of songs. You have to approach it differently, don't look for something that isn't there, just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere the music creates.

Fair enough I think you guys are right I shouldn't have been so harsh. But the thing is I feel like ANYBODY could have made this with minimal effort theres not much to it and I don't know it is art and all but i feel like this style and album are like the participation ribbon of music.

art isn't pretentious. art isn't trying to be something it isn't - we make it to be whatever we choose. in the end it's literally just noises. it's possible for people to be pretentious, including musicians, but not music.

anyway, I like Snox's last album much more than this, so maybe try that. it's shorter and IMO more immediately satisfying
