there are times it feels pretty...sterile, but for the most part there's good stuff goin on

the fact that they made an album this long without it being ass is kinda impressive

second half of this was really difficult to get through, there didn't seem to be much good material apart from the singles

Nah UGH! and The Sound are fucking jams. Also yeah every white girl I know is gushing about this but that doesn't make it bad. I mean white girls gushed over The Beatles too so...

This record and band are so easy to hate but I think you have to truly have a stick up your ass not to enjoy anything off of this.

You do bring up a good point, sometimes I wonder about the Beatles' early output and how different it really is to pop crap like One Direction. It's like literally because the Beatles played their own instruments they got a pass to make what was essentially teenybopper pop music (which I highly enjoy) in the beginning.

The synths on Change Of Heart are so cringeworthingly bad...

Can someone please concisely explain to me why this is so bad when it is literally no different than other highly acclaimed pop music out there

That's sort of generalizing. Never gave any of their earlier stuff a listen, but I just didn't enjoy the singles I heard from this. Never had the "white girl gushing" experiences some other people itt seem to have had either, so yeah. Think I might've seen some girl wearing a The 1975 shirt once but that's it. Just found what I've heard from them to be bland indie pop, nothing more nothing less.

I mean yeah it's a generalization but the majority of people who blatantly hate this would hate it even if it was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band or OK Computer (not saying this album is on par with it but it's true). I mean you don't see other derivative indie pop acts get this much hate.

are you trying to say if it was AS good or if the 1975 made either of those albums? because either way youre wrong.
