Some are ok but every time I hear Drift I cringe like crazy. That song is goddamn terrible

I like Drift but it is really repetitive. Brings the groove tho so its all good

A Dialogue In Cataplexy and The Future As History are so fucking good. This honestly gets better with each listen.

the closer is the best imo. 10 minutes long but absolutely no fat

Love how the closer transitions into the intro to Lift Your Existence too - nice little touch

this is great. my only gripe is i wish some of the guitar parts were more interesting but i get the sound they were going for and i think it works.

These guys opened for envy on the coast (oddly enough) and I was very impressed with them. I'm gonna give this a listen soon.

I don't know what to think about this yet. It seems like the kind of album where I won't have a solid opinion until much later. The instrumentation is top notch, but I'm not as entranced as I was by Lift Your Existence. My favorite songs so far are A Dialogue In Cataplexy and Phoenix III.

There's a lot of Tool influence on the album as a whole which I'm indifferent towards.

It's definitely not going to boost their popularity at all. That's for sure. Their first album and EP are far more approachable, and those weren't exactly albums a casual post-hardcore fan could dive into. Accessibility isn't my barometer of quality, I just thought that they would have garnered a bigger following after Lift Your Existence.

^agreed. I can appreciate this album more by realizing going this direction was probably a risky move for them, to go from the sound on LYE to this when it's only your second LP is pretty ballsy imo. I'm really happy that we have both sounds though, more of LYE would have been fun but underwhelming.

parts of this album gave me the feeling i got when i heard worship and tribute for the first time. just a way fresher take on this genre than what other bands are doing (including themselves, before they made this)

The thing that I don't like as much with this album is that there's too many slower tracks. Lift Your Existence was a lot of great, fast tracks through the whole thing. There were a few slow moments but it flows a lot more for me than Into the Vanishing Light
