Similar to this album, a bit more industrial

How the fuck does anyone think Horose Rotorvator is trash but love this
|
| |
How can anyone think I Don't Get It and Tattooed Man are great but dislike Amber Rain?

Album Rating: 3.5
Because "Amber rain is beautiful but wrong" might be one of my least favorite lines I've heard by a group I normally like?
And musically, it's dull as hell

"And musically, it's dull as hell"

Yeah, it's just slow piano with like some pan flute
Coil has so much better to offer than slow ambient pieces, like c'mon

"slow ambient pieces"
that's like a solid half of their discography
|
| |
I mean, it isn't just that... Probably one of my least favorite in the album as well but I don't dislike it.

beep beep, Going Up is the best Coil song

It's In My Blood and I Don't Get It are clearly the weakest on here. Amber Rain is excellent.

I mean I like some of the slow ambient stuff, but I'd be lying if my favorites with Coil weren't more tracks like "The Anal Staircase" "Ubu Noir" "Love's Secret Domain" "Ostia (The Death of Pasolini)" "Things Happen" etc.
Though ambient wise, I do love "Tenderness of Wolves" a lot.

Nah, Amber Rain and The Last Amethyst Deceiver are the two "weak" ones. Good stuff tho.

I couldn’t get into Coil from before Musick to Play in the Dark, but I like their ambient stuff a lot. What would people consider their best songs from the earlier period that are more on the ambient side? I’m open to other sides of the group but that might be a good way for me to ease in.

"The Anal Staircase" and "Love's Secret Domain" are undisputed classics
"Slur" and their cover of "Tainted Love" are fan favorites as well
"Things Happen" is amazing if you like strings, industrial bloops, and a woman with an accent rambling as much as I do

how can anyone like Horse Rotovator and not think this is better in every possible way?
