I definitely wouldn't call that show straight up bad, I just didn't have a particularly fun time. Easily could've been on my end or just an off night for them

^ it doesn't matter, man. I used to defend this band hard, now I've given up. Maybe they are no longer enthusiastic, am not even sure I know about them yet myself. (sigh)

Feel like I'm the only one here that thinks "It's Over" is a banging pop rock song.

Embarrassed to admit I love the hit/miss ambition of of The Altar/Mary. Kinda how I feel about Empire 1-4 on the new arcade fire album. They really went for it, it just didnt fully work out

I enjoy the songs Slow Motion and Die Alone. Rest of the album manages to be worse than A Beautiful Place to Drown.

Lol, die alone just sounds like a feeble attempt at Converge/old Underoath feedback breakdowns.

Look, if your expecting a renaissance from these guys yall crazy. They are just kinda in their groove doin what they do. Not going to recapture the hayday but I thought this one had some good tracks. As did Dead Reflections from a few years back. Better than the last album at least, ill take it.

“Not going to recapture the hayday”

I think I know, exactly because I know the band too well, there's no way they'd go back even if they lost their past fan base.

They were perfectly capable of making a great album like those ones in the past, it was their choice not to do that.

i mean (according to me) their heyday wasn't all that long ago.. so i'm still holding onto a tiny bit of hope ig haha

I've been doing a bit of research in their fanbase and I believe Dead Reflection gained a new batch of teenage fans for them. And I also think the core of the band will very likely go over from Shane Told to Paul Marc. I even think it's unstoppable.

I've read interviews from around 2017, Dead Reflection was created in the context of what was likely a very painful breakup.

Listened to Dead Reflection again with fresh ears and I had a big change of attitude towards it. I am still not into Paul Marc riffs tho.

Been losing interest in these guys pre hard since Dead Reflection. Have a feeling this isn't going to change that but I might still have to give it a try
