Fair point I can agree with that

Yeah but if I just wanted to listen to virtuoso musicians play chill hip hop influenced beats I’d just listen to FKJ because at least he writes songs

Also Jesus can we not make the “it has more appeal so therefore it’s better” argument, we can take that back to an imagine dragons thread or something

Album cover feels like it'd be some dope blackened death metal or something along those lines. Planning to check this. Not super familiar with the band

I heard you like complexities in your guitar wanking, so we put wanks within the wankings

cannot settle on if this is a 3 or a 3.5 but regardless its a pretty big step down. got some jams tho
|

The last 3 songs on the album are great.. all others are ok to good, but yeah, apart from Lil West's feature the rap quests are way high in the mix so the instrumentals aren't loud as they should .. ABC is a fun song but nothing more..
If the whole album was in the style of the last 3, heavier with more complex rock and metal riffs then the album could have been really, really great

Ichika is so much better instrumentally and humble about it
|
| |
I think Polyphia strike a good balance of being humble and being flamboyant. There's a certain level of style you gotta have for these ultra technical projects that I think most acts just don't have. The sheer fact that they've blown up as big as they have is testament to that. This kinda music just doesn't generate the same sort of goodwill for average listeners that these guys do
|
| |
“Every song on the next Polyphia album will have vocals (unfortunately). The are gonna be the DJ Khaled of this stuff, except you know, they arent talentless hacks like Mr Khaled over here.”
Just wanted to bump this comment on a new page for a new audience

Spun it some more over the weekend, definitely a step down from NLND but still enjoyable.
The album's low point is tracks 6-7-8 for me. 2 rap featurings in a row which make it sound a bit samey, not to mention that $NOT track isn't great in itself (too repetitive, shame because cool riffs), and finally we have an interlude.
Feels too short as well

Honestly a really good record, don't really agree with the review. I think the vocals are nice in their places.

These rap features are fucking horrific.

Well, I applaud them for mixing things up and their technicals skills. I just cannt get over some of the ingredients

Needs more abc pop infused stuff and less of the rap infused stuff.
Best part of the record is when Steve is playing. The Audacity is nuts.
