still don’t really love “bees,” but the casualness of the guitar hook on DD and the little ways they transform it—and especially the beautiful held chord under “there we go..., which gives me this very vivid feeling of ascending toward some other astral plane: and then the way that transformed guitar hook detunes itself back into its original iteration oof it’s a good one

“bees” isn’t bad anymore to me but occasionally AC will have these songs that feel like they came more strongly than usual from a playful/rebellious conceptual instinct, which is sometimes a bingo moment and sometimes feels like acceptable collateral damage from the nature of their creative personalities. I’m thinking of stuff like “spirit they’ve vanished”, “visiting friends,” “#1”...”bees” is probably my least favorite of those four songs. also the entirety of Painting With is sort of like that for me—you’re gonna hocket for a whole 40 minutes?

MPP works really hard to get you in a groove. This is pure, glorious madness.

MPP is easily their most listenable album - it's the one they really broke into the mainstream with. By far their most accessible, even when I wasn't nearly as into it as I am now I knew it was their most listenable. WACK OPINION DAWG

You going to sing ‘Grass’ after your macchiato are you Rupert?
Fuck off Rupert you’re absolutely shite, completely fucking shit and the problem is nobody ever told you cos you’re a molly-coddled fucker who thinks they are creating art when in actual fact you’re a 43yr old man-child who is scribbling on walls with crayons.
Now pack it in and get a proper fucking job.

you'd be lapping that shit up if it had come out in the 60s and had a little do-do-do after the yells
