Well yeah, that's true. Why should they change the formula if ppl still pay for it. Fanbase's to blame for that too, yeh
But if your obsession with money goes to the point where you can even try to disguise another run of the mill film as "an inclusive movie" just to grab people's attention... I think that starts to be kinda insulting

superhero movies have nearly always sucked ass
first iron man was good yeah but definitely to blame for the shit we have now
hopefully people will get tired of these at some point and we'll have a better trend in mainstream cinema

The saddest thing is that these movies are the only big budget originals getting greenlighted in a sea of sequels, remakes, and re-imaginings.

Isn't the whole mcu just comic book stories put to screen? Thought I heard that somewhere

superhero movies are more about scope than narrative. I think it's fine, just watch indie movies if you want a good story, there's still plenty of great story based directors

Of course there is, and I don't complain that it is these kind of movies that get to be commercially succesful cause that's how it is most of the time
What annoys me is that there really is people saying marvel movies are the panacea for modern film industry lol
|
| |
idk anyone who says that but black panther was pretty good from a narrative standpoint. it had likable characters and the first marvel villain worth a damn in a while

I thought the villain was the worst part honestly. something about his dialogue within the tribal setting was off. like he was a really stereotypical artsy black guy
|

Ragnarok was so damn good because it finally felt like something different. It felt more like a bizarre kiwi sci fi comedy which sounds awful but probably is my favourite marvel movie.
This one though was just super hero by numbers with a black cast.

"something about his dialogue within the tribal setting was off."
That's part of why I liked his character actually. Wakanda has got this whole tradition he couldn't care less about and as a result he seems so out of place and wrong in their setting, but nevertheless he follows the rules when they suit him and exploits the system for his own gain before disrespecting the whole society, burning the plants and planning a worldwide uprising on his terms.
|
| |
that’s why i liked him tho, cause he’s this black kid from the streets that comes into all this power and he’s completely out of his element. and michael b. Jordan was dope
ninja’d lol ya what scuro said
|
| |
Im surprised they understood him when he went "yeee go head and burn alladat" 😂

Michael B Jordan is lit. (Except in that fantasic 4 movie. But whatever, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep together wouldn't have saved that movie)

Killmonger is the best villain Marvel has ever put on screen. Period.
|
| |
check out Annihilation instead

I'm rewatching the Marvel movies, and I'd say Killmonger is the best villain too. Loki is better as a anti-hero than as a proper villain

I'd say Black Panther is better than Annihilation. Annihilation was fun but the dialogue was hit and miss and the writing in general was a bit off
|
| |
I'm DYING to see Annihilation. That shit looks incredible.
|

trigger tha gambler should be on this
|

& damn, marvel shittin all over dc lately
