"What does this mean? Did they make non-full length songs that you enjoyed? Why don't you just say you're not into Covet, or her guitar work."
i like yvette as an instagram guitarist, and i like a lot of the individual riffs/ideas covet has. ben's comment, essentially.

Yea same, I'd love for her to sing more, I really like her voice and it brings a dynamic to the band that separates them from their peers

Yeah. Too much guitar wank for me, not enough magic. Great musicians obviously, but the only thing that stuck were the singing parts.

finished the album, feels like yet another alternate tuning tech demo. lots of variety with guitar tones and flourishes which was cool though. farewell had a great climax.
the lyrics were even worse than the shit i remember seeing on her instagram somehow, fuck yeah

Any guitar players in here that can comment on how good this girl actually is at the style she uses? Can't tell if the YT comments that are turning her into guitar god status are just hyperbole. I think she's proficient at what she does, but I'm not listening with my jaw dropped or anything.

there is a fair amount of blind fanboys alright, I think they where best on currents EP and then they kind of regressed after that

@FadedSun It's not exactly the most common style, though I also wouldn't say she's doing anything particularly difficult. She's a better tapper than 90% of guitarists out there, but she's in no way pushing the limits of what's plausible. Think she's kinda just doing what comes naturally to her after years of honing in on a specific sound and technique. Don't get the idea she'd be filling in for her techy-er contemporaries on tour anytime soon, though I could see any guitarist touring in the mathy field being able to learn her parts relatively quickly.

all this obviously not to say technical ability is necessarily important in the grand scheme of "is this good music"
