The quieter parts of Lacerate straight up sound like Imagine Dragons

Silverline/Convinced "LP" is easily my favorite Anberlin album. i've found myself not enjoying their older stuff quite as much as i did in the mid/late-2000s. really loving their modern sound though, including lowborn.

Well, their first two albums + New Surrender have a more pop punk/emo vibe to them than the rest, which make them sound "juvenile", I guess. But I don't think their other stuff is much different; Vital, DITWLIAP and Lowborn sound more "mature" and aren't too far from this in terms of style, only that this sounds like a modernized version of that.

I'm not mentioning Cities because its kind of its own thing and it combines both aspects pretty damn well.

Confusing perspective. Disagree on stuff

Strange news. I dont know much about Matty or MMF, but replacing Stephen feels near impossible. His vocals kind of are anberlin.. should just make new band if he is out unless it is just for a short stint..

Cautiously optimistic because I do like Matty's vocals

That's a very strange choice for a replacement

Anyway, it's an "indefinite hiatus," but if it were to become permanent I doubt Matty would be the permanent replacement unless MMF suddenly breaks up

But yeah I do agree that they should just go back on hiatus if Stephen is unavailable

It seems like the rest of the band has had a creative resurgance lately with the new EPs and whatnot, so I'm not surprised that they wouldn't just want to hang it up again just because Stephen wants a break.

I thought Matty was just filling in for touring, pretty sure Stephen will still be doing vox in studio and such

So from what I’ve gathered and read, Matty is just doing touring vocals for the band and Stephen isn’t going to tour. But when they record, they’re both doing vocals. Which I hate
