I enjoy both. Watched rolo and brutus at Download and brutus were amazing, singer/drummer is amazing; rolo were bad, horrible.

"This is better than Rolo, yeah."

I saw Rolo many moons ago now, they were pretty good according to my hazy recollection. Have Brutus upcoming in less than month, so I'll attempt another irrelevant comparison, as you guys seem so fond of doing this.

I'm perfectly fine living with them, quite literally in fact.

I could only catch the last 20 minutes of their show, but boy do they sound massive live

Ah man, that's a shame. I'm definitely going out of my way to make sure I see all the support, especially these guys. I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a support act, hope I don't burn out by the time CoL come on, ha.
What did these guys close with?

Man I was stuck in the worst traffic jam I've ever seen in Belgium, I was so pissed. Fortunately I'll catch them as headliners in 2 weeks so that's not too bad. They are really, really good, and it was nice the venue was packed for their show (I bet that's because they are Belgian, eh).
They closed with Sugar Dragon, perfect.

Sugar Dragon, nice. Really hoping for 'Not Caring' from Burst and War from this one. Other than that anything they play will be welcome. Hoping the set might be 40 mins-ish, so that's essentially half their material from Burst/Nest. A.A Williams is playing too though, so maybe both will get 30 mins each or something, not sure.

Shall I spoil it to you? Yesterday A.A. Williams got 35 minutes and Brutus 40 :]

Ah, I wasn't sure A.A. Williams was playing the gig in Belgium, that sounds about right. No worries either way, I don't mind, would've been cool to hear those tracks but I won't cry myself to sleep if they're not played. I'll be too excited about CoL to worry.

'War' live was incredible. Unfortunately I'm beginning to think that song surpasses the rest of their material by a more significant margin than I'm comfortable admitting. It was almost an anti-climax hearing it as the opener as everything else inevitably paled in comparison.

Did you just drop the 4.5 to go back to a 4? Were you disappointed, or underwhelmed, by their show?
War is indeed their best track, and I hope they won't play it as the opener next time. A finish Sugar Dragon + War would be perfect.

I'd been contemplating it before - revisited their albums in preparation. It was a fun gig, didn't quite elevate the tracks beyond the recorded versions though, for me. I don't think it helps when the vocalist is also the drummer (which I knew beforehand and was interested in witnessing), there was a lack of energy on stage for the style.

Welp, you got a point. It's true that compared to the seven-headed monster that came right after, there was something lacking energy-wise.

The energy for CoL manifested itself in a different way, building of tension etc. I wasn't expecting any jumping around and it wouldn't have worked... but for Brutus' shorter songs where the punk-orientated side of their sound really shines through, yeah it would've been welcome. Especially given they have almost sing-a-long style choruses at times.

I either really like this band or absolutely do not want to hear it when it comes on.
It's very odd.
