Halfway in, this is not nearly as blackened or even blackgaze as people are saying, but it is very good skramz.

Nah its not overly bm influenced but the sound is definitely there. Devotion is a straight up blackgaze song, at least to my ears lol. This is the best skramz I've heard in a while for sure.

Yeah, the outro in Devotion is blackgaze af, but a lot of the meat of the song is that kind of post-rocky skramz. But anyways, after 2.5 listens I'll leave it at a high 4. Beautiful stuff. Can't go higher than that though, cause I have Loma Prieta's I.V. at a 4.5 and I still like it tangibly more than this. Happy that screamo is still getting quality like this in 2024. The last City of Caterpillar drop is still my favorite in recent memory.

I get why everybody is praising this, it's pretty good indeed. Not my fav genre but this is definitely one of the best albums of this post-hardcore/screamo niche I've ever heard
