Oh so you either like this album or you have personal problems, that makes a lot of sense.
Shut the fuck up already.
Seriously.
Of course, it would make sense that, because Devin tried too hard when making this album, his fanboys would try just as hard to defend it.

I believe that Deconstruction embodies that statement....people who either don't enjoy or understand the intricacies of this album either have insecurity issues with themselves or simply take music WAY too seriously (As you: AtomicWaste, stated so poignantly) and can't enjoy some silliness crossbred with awesomeness....hahaha Poor saps. They know not what they miss
Really just shut up faggot. Theirs reasons why people aren't going to enjoy an album just like I do not enjoy this one.

I can definitely see how someone could really dislike this album and be fully justified.

I'm a huge fan of Devin Townsend's work, especially his albums with SYL, Ocean Machine and Terria. But damn, this album's disappointing. It's so fucking boring. Lots of recycled Ziltoid riffs, not half as heavy nor chaotic as those silly reviewers describe it. Some songs have some fun parts, but that's all. At least the lyrics are funny.

And please don't think that whoever doesn't enjoy this crappy album is because of the "offensive" or "silly" lyrics. The music is fucking boring, that's it.

i still think the title track is fucking awful. Rest of the album rules.

[quote=beefshoes]I don't see how a Strapping Young Lad fan wouldn't like this.

Hmmm... In my not so humble opinion, every album of Strapping Young Lad shits on this piece of shit with a stream of very smelly shit. That's how shitty this fucking shit is. And seriously... super heavy? What album were you listening to, guys? This shit isn't even remotely heavy. It's streamlined and restrained like Ziltoid. It's not too good.

Actually wasn't trying, that was a quote from the Angry Video Game Nerd. And this album is bland and boring like I dunno. Still a 3 on its own, but it doesn't tell much when we're talking Devin Townsend.

oh god has he really fallen that far?

What are you talking about?

I'm talking about that this album is mostly recycled Ziltoid garbage. This has nothing on SYL.

Planet of the Apes is virtually flawless. It's like 12 different catchy power-choruses all smashed together. Poltergeist I still don't think is that great, but the rest is pretty solid.
