First dud of my little black metal stint. Was thinking I’d quite like this as I’ve been really digging minimalism and related stuff recently but man this mostly didn’t do it for me. I mostly hate the vocals and really don’t like the processed sounding tones for the most part, it’s all just way too chaotic for me, and the back and forth between the metal and the minimalism tracks doesn’t work. The first track in particular is horrible. However I actually really like tracks 2-4, especially “PASAQALIA” - the strings and vibes on that work really well. Those tracks save this from a 2 or lower.

Two tracks in. Those flutes and yelpy vocals in the intro were missteps imo, but the guitar work is already goated for me, holy shit. Such pretty chaos.

Damn, I'd heard of this band being somewhat divisive and the ratings on the previous pages are further evidence of that fact, but I'm really glad I gave this a shot.
thanks Scarcity (awesome band) and to Ghandi (no, the other one) who informed me these guys did the whole totalism influence in BM previously. This is really creative. I'll have to do a discog dive.
