I'm a little late on this one, but this'll be a regular "winter album" for me. Not as depressing as Katatonia, or Opeth, there are kinda uplifting vibes throughout the album, I need that. Great review as well!

This album sounds Katatonia-ish to me but the Opeth comparison is accurate too. Only way better than anything Opeth has done in a decade. Actually this band’s whole discog is better than anything Opeth has done in a decade tbh.

Not impressed for now with the new release. Songwritingwise is pretty stiff (hard riff, stop for singing, solo, ending) Lykaya is my fave as well. This will come off stupid but I prefer when they re more toolish prog/esoteric than opethish melodic. Haven't finished yet, but songs are well done still, just unsurprising.

I dig both as well. Just think their tool connotation made them kind of run away from that and I miss it a bit on the new one, as general vibe, or those cool acoustic interludes, or cool jazzy or whatever parts in middle of songs keeping you surprised.
