I didn't like this album at all. The way I see it, if I want to listen to Coldplay, I'll listen to Coldplay and not a bunch of people trying to be them.
You sound like a Radiohead fan talking about Muse.

Hahahaha yeah well that's my take. I love Radiohead and I like Muse but I wouldn't comment in the same way the relationship between those two as I did with Coldplay and Keene. Keene just isn't my thing when it comes to laid-back UK pop. Their CD bored me and I ended up wanting to listen to Coldplay afterwards. Squirming through cuts in a throat.
Keane did have a guitarist once, but he left the group. They recorded demos while he was still in the band, mind, so it's quite possible that it is Keane.
true.

I have it now, it's pretty good. Not something I would listen to on a regular basis though. It wears itself out rather easily.

I heard them play live on SNL...
I dont like their music...however, they are a REALLY talented band. Their singer is great...i just dont like them.
Excellent review.

for an easy listening album it's good, personally i prefer This Is The Last Time to Bedshaped........and the piano bloke plays bass on a few songs
|

im only writing this cos ma mate said they are amzin im not sure i nedd to check them out tho........................good review

Keane are very different to Coldplay in my opinion, they havent got that dark edge Coldplay have.
I really liked this album at first, but repeated listenings exposed it's repetitiveness, however, Everybody;'s Changing, BedShaped and Somewhere Only We Know are damn ner perfect songs and they don't get old.
Give them a listen
They were fantastic at Live 8

i see how they're being compared to coldplay, travis and the likes, but i seriously hate this band, their songs are so blend and plain bad. they try to make all their songs sound so angelic and happi, but i just don't like their songs. i rather listen to thirteen senses

| |
i find keane a bit "meh", they're just overhyped, i remember before this came out my frineds were all saying these guy are great, but now, they're just a band with a gimmick and not a very original one either

Where's the mention of Somewhere Only We Know in this review?
Good album, Chaplin has a great voice.

I love this album. It's so catchy. When I get tired of grind and indie rap, I pop this bad boy in or The Doves, The Last Broadcast and sing along. It takes skill to write these super catchy songs with only 2 instruments and a singer.

Good album. It's a tad bit overrated though, they're a really good bands and I bought this album after hearing so many rave reviews, but I don't know. Maybe I had too high expectations?
Everybody's Changing is a favourite. Bedshaped comes next.

This album is okay but not that great. Its all with the piano and theres too much of it. Bedshaped is a ledgendary song though.

I prefer The Killers over these lads, but meh, still a decent band.
Was really into This Is The Last Time before radio completely murdered that song. This Message Edited On 06.08.06

This album is amazing imo.
I heard the new album, Under the Iron Sea on Keane's Myspace. They have the entire album on there at the moment. It sounds darker and even better than Hopes&Fears. I'll be getting it soon.

somewhere only we know should be in the recommended downloads. just because its so popular and some people may have gotten sick of it doesn't make it a bad song.
