The records prior are more straight forward and riffy post-hardcore. If you're checking Thrice out because of Cave In, listen to this and The Alchemy Index. If you want more post hardcore goodness, go backwards. If you want a more alternative sounding route (similar to Cave In's evolution), work your way forward.

That all sounds pretty good tbh, thanks. I may just start from the beginning, to see their evolution
In what way do their similarities to Deftones show? Purely from the vocals?
And am i wrong with the Dredg vibes?

Dredg vibes don't really come into to play until this album and later.

Tbh, I've never really listened to the Deftones, so I can't make the comparison.

Hearing Thrice's evolution is absolutely worthwhile, though their first is one of their worst and really doesn't sound like the rest of their albums. I still love it though.

I've never gotten a Deftones vibe, but I suppose I could see that with the way some of their songs are structured with their bass lines and what not, if that makes any sense.

Sadly never listened to Dredg, so I can't comment on that.

Well, this sounds highly interesting, that they seem to have influences from some of my favorite bands. The album cover made me think so hard of Dredg, i just had to ask

I think the only legitimate comparison to Deftones would be some of their sludgier sounding riffs and that both like to use atmosphere in their songs. but tbh there really aren't many similarities between these two acts imo. I like them both so I don't think I'm talking out of my ass here.

Give Dredg a listen then Xing. Leitmotif, El Cielo and Catch Without Arms should be very much to your liking based on your ratings

Osmark it is truely a shame that you live in Sweden. Would love to have a music nerd talk in a pub or something with all of you

tbh I doubt this is still a 5 for me if I'm being completely honest, but it sure as hell used to be. still there are some absolutely fantastic songs on this and not a single bad one.
