Anyone who says Killswitch isn't doing anything original could you please tell me some other bands with intense screaming and clean operatic vocals like Howard's. I'm not saying this to be jerk I'd actually like to know so I could listen to them haha.

They are structured the same but a lot of tracks are still very enjoyable...killswitch is a very solid band...i love the opening/title track...it's so awesome/crushing.

Desperate Times is such an awesome tune. Sooo heavy and still emotional which is what these guys do best.
|
| |
honestly it isn't really unoriginal because KSE was one of the first bands to pioneer this sound.

New Diecast>>>>>>>>Killswitch. Nuff said. I still can't wait fro new album from both bands though. I hope KSE really steps it up this album.

Honestly it pisses me off how there is so much ATR and KSE love on sputnik yet Diecast somehow always get left out. Also from the same area and been around longer than both bands. Not to mention that Diecats's current singer blows Phil and Howard away.

There really isnt that much KSE love. Most of the elitist users trash KSE on a regular basis. I need to find Diecast's new stuff. Diecast was Brian Fair's old band right?

Ah good ole Killswitch, as much as i music taste grows and diversifys, there will always be room in my ears for some Killswitch. Why i feel this album isn't as good as Alive or Just Breathing, i feel it's much better than The End of Heartache.Stoked for the new album, hoping they take some risks as they did with Desperate Times(best song on the album IMO) while maintaining the catchiness their known for.
Also Diecast is VERY underrated I loved both Tearing Down Your Blue Skies and Internal Revolution. No Diecast is not Brian Fairs old band, your thinking of Overcast.

Pinch harmonic at the end of the first chorus in Unbroken is so awesome it's funny.

This will never compare to End Of Heartache to most people because End Of Heartache has the hits on it, but track for track this album is better. EOH had some pretty blatant filler tracks on it (Declaration springs to mind), whereas everything on Daylight Dies seems to be there for a reason.
KsE seem unable to go wrong when they stick to a formula. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. It works for them and it works well. I prefer this album to EOF and Alive or Just Breathing. That's just me, though.
This review is the review I wish i could have written. Everything you described and explained is worded almost the same as I would word it. I would quote my dad in it though: "Turn that crap off. its just a load of noise."
Oh, if only he knew...

KsE has a really sick vocalist no doubt. Maybe one of the best I bet.

Not as bad as their newest one, but this definitely lacks some of the energy and creativity of AOJB and TEOH.
