Oh my, we're talking about ska when we should be discussing this emo album.

Let's get back on track.

Oh yeah. It's just not as good as Cryonics, which I don't hold in high regards in the first place.

Haven't gotten a chance to listen to this yet. From what I've heard it doesn't sound too bad, save for the vocals which have been progressively getting less intense.

Nice review Nick. Shorter than your other ones but still said what needs to be said. Good job.
from production to musicality.
Saying the production is worse than previous albums is absolutely retarded. You might not enjoy it as much, but its indisputably better.

That was one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

The production on this album is worse than Cryonics in my opinion.

I dunno. The production on Cryonics has sort of cloyed over time. It is too overdone with a bunch of effects and stuff. I appreciate how straight forward and clean the production is after Cryonics and Fair Trades and Farewells.

I dunno, maybe its just me, but being able to hear every instrument well in the mix is probably the most important aspect of production, which is something Cryonics failed at, especially with the drums.

I have no idea what the whole rave over his vocals is about. His "shout" if you will suits the music, but when he tries to sing it's just awful. Some of the backing vocals are pretty neat though. This Message Edited On 02.17.07

Dude, how good is "The rockets red glare..." To most it sounds like a bad attempt at singing but I treat as just a harsher, weirder version. It's not quite shouting and it is definitely pitched. Sort of like punctuated singing.

This gets an automatic 3 for coverart alone. The iron giant is making out with a pirate ship
