Awesome record. just falls short of Bath's greatness imo though. This album is a little heavier than Bath.

I've decided Bath is a good deal better than this after giving each three listens today. I've devoted alll my listening to MoW today, and i'm fascinated by them. Incredible music, that's for sure. I feel that this just isn't as good as Bath, however. A couple of the songs seem to drag, and there is nothing that serves as a major standout. Gleam in Ranks is my favorite on the album, which I ironically feel should be longer. I don't particularly care for Stone of October's Sobbing either.

However, all 3 times I listened to this today were out of a computer speaker, so i've yet to just listen to it with headphones and no distractions. Maybe that will do it.

After listening to this and Bath a bunch of times, I think that this is clearly the superior of the two musically, and a much more even record. This Message Edited On 03.21.08

Okay, now this growing on me after a couple more days. Bath is slightly better, but this is awesome. I don't like Monstrously Low Tide much at all though, they could've closed the album better imo.

I'm loving the chimes in Bizarre Flower/A Violent Mist.

Though i like Bath more, this has my favorite maudlin tracks, Gleam in Ranks (one of the best songs created by man or beast alike) and Sleep is a Curse are magical...

edit:I absolutely despise the closer...just putting that out there...This Message Edited On 07.14.08

Holy fuck. Gave this a listen for the first times in months and I might've liked it just as much as Bath...almost want to give this a 5.
