I like this the best out of the 'new sound' Katatonia albums. I like both Dance of December Souls and Brave Murder Day a little bit better perhaps, but I listen to this just as much.

yeah, it's a lot more accessible. But don't get me wrong, Viva Emptiness is the bee's knees. I need to listen to it a bit more, but I'm considering bumping it up to a 4.

similar to this one and a good next album. What else might be similar? How about
My Dying Bride's "Like Gods of the Sun" or Paradise Lost's "In Requiem" and "Icon"
