this is a shame...i wish they would have focused on perfecting the Hybrid Theory sound, not trying to change everything....

why focus on a dead genre? i like this new album becaus ei went in it open minded and enjoyed the crap out of it, same with the new FFAF. i went in both with open mind and liked both fo them.

I'm scared to know what the other 170 song ideas sounded like.

Dude, what type of weed are you smoking with this review? Minutes to Midnight is a step away from Linkin Park is safe with, nu-metal, and a step in the right direction. I'm pretty sure most people agree with me as well, even Rolling Stone who rips the crap out of every album gave M2M a 4/5. Stick that up your butt.

It's called an opinion pissface. Most people here don't agree with you. Don't get upset because we don't like watered-down crap. LP totally lied about this album. They talked about it's "progressive influences" and how it's so different when really they just jumped on the next mainstream rock bandwagon and wanted to hype their album. LP totally suck and I'm sure this album isn't any better. This Message Edited On 05.15.07

eakflanderyof would have just gotten repped from me if I could solely for the use of the word "pissface".

Anywho, good review. It was short, but you got your point across. I really have a total lack of interest in this. Nothing Linkin Park has ever piqued my interest. In fact, I'm pretty sure I was the only one to hate them way back in like 2003 when everyone loved them.

this album wasn't as good as i hoped it would be. it left me disappointed, but i don't know why. i enjoyed most of the songs, but there was something too unfulfilling. oh well, at least they can say that they do sound quite distinct from the first two albums. i enjoyed most of it, but some of the songs just bored me

i listened to this today in school for the first time. i wasnt impressed and it wasnt unbearable. it was "OK". thats it. i liked one a lot and a couple others were ok but thats basically it. i dunno maybe i just need to get used to the new stuff and listen to it more. but it definitely is NOT a 4.5. Rolling Stones means shit to the world. they lost my respect when Britney Spears made the list for influential songs and Pink Floyd didnt. that just shows how retarded they are. anywho, i miss the turntables and stuff from the old albums.

I'm not rating this yet because I haven't heard it all the way through, but I have to say that I think the reviews trashing the album are way off balance...

Meteora, now that was a crappy album. This one?

Well, what I've heard so far sounds good, but I can't say yet how good or bad it is...

Apparently they're like zomg political with the "The Little Things Give You Away". That's why Rolling Stone gave it a 4/5, not because of the music.

There are lots of bands present to show off that crappy sounds. We want LP with HT and Meteora not that crappy bullshits.

Hybrid Theory was the album that got me into music when it came out, period. I'm still going to admit that it was a pretty good release. I was pretty excited about hearing this album (also due to the false "progressive influences"), but when I heard the single, my expectations were knocked down quite a few levels. I think I'll be able to hold off picking this up for quite some time (if I ever do).

I still love Hybrid Theory, but everything else they've put out is utterly terrible. This included. Yeah, sure, they added more keyboards, but it only serves to fully bring out how weak the song structures are. The whole sound has gotten much more (dare I say it) WHINY, and the lack of more Mike is a truly heartbreaking thing.

What bugs me most about this release, though, is there's none of that trademark angsty teen heavy guitar stuff on here that made Hybrid Theory so cool. They've progressed into something wholly unlikeable that tarnishes their "glory days".

Excellent review. I dont understand how people continue to listen to these guys. They are probably one of the worst bands Ive ever heard in my life (after listening to their last two albums).

Superb album, they changed, because they're style was too known and they didn't want people to easily know their style so they wanted to try something new so it would be unsuspected. This Message Edited On 05.15.07
