At the same time, with the same genre, both garning similar attention , both having two of the most recognized death metal bands in exsistance, while having side projects that were less known, but were still important to the scene?

You don't see any of that?

George Fisher left Monstrosity in 1996. He joined CC in 95.
Benton joined Deicide when they became Amon, in 1987. He records studio vocals, since 2001, with Vital Remains. He is still in Deicide. He is considered a session vocalist for VR.
So no, I'm not really seeing it.

but duuuuude they're both in death metal bands
|

forget it. ^Shut up.

what the **** is your point. There wasn't one. I was stating something that I thought was very easy to see, but apparently, I was incorrect in that assumption...

But, Monstrocity was never a side project for George Fisher. That was his main band until Corpse asked him to sing for them. Vital Remains isn't really Glen's side project, they were a legit band before Glen came in. Glen just fills in the vocals for them, it is not his band. The same goes for chris barnes who sings for Torture Killer, but does not play live. Torture Killer started out as a legit band and asked Chris if he wanted to sing on their next album. That doesn't necessarilly make Torture Killer Chris Barnes' band/side project.

Well, they're (as I said) pretty much all in the same boat in the ways you mentioned. They just kinda all seem like that to me. I dunno, It's hard to put into typed words what I'm trying to communicate, but what ever...

Hey man, I wanted to say thanks for this review. My music has been very dry lately, with the exception of the new Behemoth and Symphony X, and this review introduced me to some real fresh, great death metal. I love this stuff so much, and I agree, its a nice change of pace to the more Deicide/Suffocation/Decapitated blast beat stuff. I'll always still be a fan of Decapitated just because I heart them from the Wings of Creation days :3
Anyways, thanks, this review prompted me to look at their myspace and now I'm hooked. Its nice that they are not gimmicky or cliche in any huge regards---its really fresh death metal, that says a lot for a genre so strung up on redundancy. Razor sharp production, mind perforating riffs, and bone crushing drum work.
Thanks!

I can't find the artist anywhere. If you guys have the cd, I'd be grateful if one of you too a quick look.

well done, i need to check this out and this review makes me want to

Wow this is certainly a change of pace from all the metalcore and modern death metal out there. Not that I don't like some of it but a vast majority of that stuff is crap. Monstrosity really just goes back to the roots of Death Metal and they do it so well. I really like what I've heard, I might have to pick this up.

What does Metalcore have anything to do with These guys?

Absolutely nothing. He's saying it's a nice change from the ever-present trend of Metalcore bands and bands falsely labelled as Metalcore.
Dude, seriously. Stop replying to every single comment.

Would I be able to find this at F.Y.E. or some commercial record store like that. I'm going to pick up some cds on tuesday and I would cool if I could find this.
I'm not sure how popular these guys are, not to say death metal is all that popular. This Message Edited On 05.19.07

I personally don't think a big box store would have this. But you never know.
|

FYE has like 30 copies of this waiting for you to buy all of them
|

Damns, I wish I would have enough money for thirty Monstrosity albums. I could hang them all on my wall, it'd be spectacular.
