This might, with no hyperbole, be one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Was hooked from the cheesy synths at the end of Al Svartr.

Every bit as good as the band's debut in my opinion, though it seems to me like Emperor's sophomore effort has more experimentation going on. This all contributes to another excellent set of symphonic black metal songs however, and what I love more than anything is the melodic, atmospheric mid-sections of "The Loss of Curse and Revenence" and "In Longing Spirit". That said, my personal highlights are definitely "Ye Entrancemperium", "The Loss of Curse and Revenance" and "With Strength I Burn".

This album sucks and by sucks I mean fucking amazing lmfao. This goes in my top 10 albums of all time and ITNE is in that list too. Sometimes when I listen to this I cant believe that it was actually made if that makes any sense. This shit is too hot for planet earth. Favorites = With Strength I Burn, Ensorcelled By Khaos, The Loss And Curse Of Reverence. Might I add I would love to see a video or have them actually play Ensorcelled By Khaos live.

Personally, I find this a little bit better than nightside eclipse. Not by much though

If this had Nightside's vocals it might be better

Anthems definitely has more interesting ideas throughout but nothing beats the atmosphere of Nightside Eclipse. Either way, two of the best black metal albums ever written.

With Strength I Burn might just be my favorite BM song ever. Absolutely love the clean vocal work on that one.

I find the first 4 minutes of this is a bit silly. Majestic intro, check! But then it's just evil excellence

all the way.

I like Ihsahn's voice better on Nightside, but the music here is so fucking awesome.

That swirling riff in Ye Entrancemperium is too good.
