I was putting some more music on my hard drive that I haven't listened to for ages today. I got so excited when I seen Slint. Great great album which lead to some great great bands. I'm still waiting for someone to actually sound more like slint and not actually just be influenced by them. It would be great to see someone pull off the post-rock and vocals this well.

EDIT: NEEDS MOAR GREAT IN THIS POST GREAT GREAT GREAT I KNOW NO OTHER DESCRIBING WORDS OKAY.

I'm really over the edge on this. The first half is great (exception Don, Aman) and the problem lies within the constructs of the music. Its entirely dark, but it really has no sprawling, epic moments besides the closer, which is brilliant. Really slow-paced, but I suppose I expect too much for one of, if not the first incarnation of post-rock to be heard.

Good point ^ I find that the rest of the album pales in comparison to Good Morning, Captain; but instead of letting it take away from the album I try and imagine the rest as a build-up in itself to the epic finish. I find it works much better, much more cohesively that way.

you should listen to 'Talk Talk' and 'Rodan' as well

Talk Talk are generally considered the forefathers of post-rock more so than Slint,

Rodan have a 'heavier' approach to Slint's sound
