length is definitely something of an issue but it's more like...there will be very exciting moments that honestly make me go
like "YES 5/5!!!!!" but when the pieces are as elaborate and almost ridiculous as they are here, sometimes i just feel sort of lost.
"write once, run melos," as i said, has that one amazing climax five minutes through, but when that comes after five minutes
of such a long song (though i appreciate him trying to break the barriers of "build-build-climax"), the remaining twenty can be
feel sort of counterproductive, especially when he starts delving into swing jazz. that isn't to say there isn't more good stuff to
come as much as it is to imply that the album's format makes it difficult to find incentive to slog through it. ya?

yeah for me the trick was (as it always is with other difficult albums) to get immersed in the environment off the bat and ignore any climaxes etc. guess that was possible in part because my version of this album doesn't even have track differentiation. its one 57~min long track

I wouldn't describe this as a difficult album. It is simply a matter of enjoying the journey, as if you were watching the scenery go by on a cross-country train trip. The climaxes aren't meant to be ignored, they are a very deliberate part of the experience.

Does anyone know if this is all completely done using a "program" on the computer? Or does Kashiwa add in proper instruments. Also, I would appreciate if you could tell me what "program" he uses.. Thanks

Sounds pretty epic. In the summer on a clear night I like going out and sitting on the deck, looking

up at the stars, and playing this on my headphones.
