yeah i understand, i heard this album for the first time almost 2 years and it has only recently become my favorite
maybe that's why i like it so much, because ive put so much into it that it's now giving it all back.

because despite being relatively straight forward this album is their most "autistic" recording i guess you could say. its not that everything is subsurface like most of their later work, its just so distant and off putting. things like glitch and piezo just take so long to really solidify in your mind. its kind of weird to put into words but this album really did that for me
for the first year or so of listening to autechre i only every listened to slip off this, then one time i spun it and after having all those tracks sort of rush past in the background suddenly they were all in my face and it became apparent to me how brilliant it all way.
i mean the fact that my favorite song of all time (nine) is just a single synth like mutated over 3 or so minutes shouldnt make sense, but with this record it certainly does.
