who the hell names their band Veil Of Maya anyway? I mean, little subtle references to other albums, artists, or songs is acceptable for a band name, but when you have that great of a lack of creativity that you have to really rip the name straight from a title, than you clearly have a problem.
By the way, I'm listening to Ithyphallic again, and it's really slow.

Ithphallic is really slow, and it sounds much more muted than Annihilation did.
too many snare hits per second for me.

This review sucks i liked this album. Say what you will about the breakdowns but they are tastefully done in comparison to most bands in all genres of metalcore. There are catchy riffs I liked the guitar work throughout. Overall it could of been much worse and in comparison to the other bands like them today i think this album delivered. ....

Do you really think that's how a review is suppose to be wrote? Talking about every song? That's the shittest and most boring reviews ever. Even though i disagree(3-3.5 for me), Coke wrote a good review here.

This is a pretty good review. I don't want to hear him talk about how each song sounds if they're all very similar... like he stated. Tyler and I don't see things eye to eye a lot of the time, but I'm gonna have to say he's a pretty good writer, and this review is definitely fine.

Um, I'm writing a review, not an in-depth summary of the album. It isn't my job to explicitly describe every single instance of this album, it's my job to briefly organize the sound into a concise, overall description of what is going on. I don't focus exclusively on "who they're ripping off", but I make note of it because it's a pretty essential part of their sound. I focus on what I feel are important-to-note parts, such as the abrupt leads in "Aura", but as a whole, I'm not here to write a real-time description of the album. Because that wouldn't be a review, that would be an essay.
I wasn't complaining. I was highlighting that the band ignores any potentially good route to take within their music by succumbing to ridiculous genre-cliches and that their music suffers as a result of this and its generally underdeveloped structure.
I think you're failing to understand what a review is, personally, because when you said "all he did was focus on how they use breakdowns like every other band like them and how the vocals suck and and guitar work was boring," you basically highlighted a huge part of what a review entails.
