I just downloaded it and am now listening. Considering buying it. That's something that doesn't normally happen.

king give up already. =P ant is more of a story teller and less of a rapper. that's why i enjoy this so much.

Amazing album, I love the older stuff...but i'm really digging Slug's slight shift in style to more of a storytelling approach. Ant's beats are on point as usual. One of my favorite albums of the year.

Love the review, this was easily the best rap album of 2008. You did miss out on one crucial part of "The Waitress." The hobo isn't some creep, he's her Dad. "I should have been a better father to my daughter." At least, that's how I interpret it.

One of the slickest hip-hop albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to and owning. The beats. The lyrics. Seriously. This is some deep hip hop with some awesome imagery behind the lyrics.

I like this album, puppets rules. But I hate wild wild horses, it sounds really cheesy to me.

^Hah, review was very well-written, but I can't say I agree with your opinion completely. One of my least favorite Atmosphere discs, though Yesterday is a great track.

Slug just sounds so damn monotone on this, like he's lost all sense of passion and feeling. Same with Brother Ali on his newest. Even on some of the better songs, the rhymes seem uninspired ("she knew what that part meant, so she swept every piece out that apartment" -- are we really rhyming "part meant" with "apartment"? Pathetic).

The beats are pretty great, but they're not very hip-hop, if you know what I mean. This album plays out more like a Sage Francis disc to me -- like a poetry jam album more so than hip hop.

I do love me some old Atmosphere though (Overcast!, Lucy Ford, Sad Clown Bad Dub II and God Loves Ugly -- after that it's a mixed bag).

Love this, especially the sort of chilled out nature of the beats contrasted with the intensity of the lyrics/delivery.

Will be checking out their other stuff asap.

There's been times I've wanted to just put "Yesterday" on repeat all day... shit never gets old.
