either way i believe punk has lost its true definiton anyway
ex.
My friend told me the other day about how how he listen to punk like FOB/TBS/Coheed & Cambria
needless to say, he got a could talking too about what punk is, but my point is that punk is becoming like the term emo, miused labeling bands that arent anytrhing close
i dont know why ppl say these guys sold out, if you listen to their old stuff its pretty much the same thing
|
| |
Their older stuff is a lot different.

what i mean is, theirs not a drastic change to signify becoming mainstream or anything
its not like their old stuff is metal or anything, it was always pop-punk
|
| |
That's true, but I don't see how some people can say that all of their songs sound the same.
Their older stuff is a lot more straightforward, musically and lyrically, without much frills. The newer material has a lot of subtle things in the music, and the lyrics are filled with a lot of innuendo and wordplay that wasn't as apparent earlier.

i think most people just don't want to say pop-punk cos its got 6 letters. and a hyphen.
thier older stuff is A LOT better.

Well I can't really rate the album, as I haven't heard that much of it, but what I have heard isn't that special, and your review did seem a little biased: 'The great thing about this? It's Fall Out Boy!'. If the review seemed more detached, it might have been more convincing. Also, the titles of their songs annoy me. They're trying too hard to be funny and it would impress me more if they let the material speak for itself.
I appreciate your intent, AV8RS, but you wrote 'cavemen', using the plural incorrectly in your correction of grammar. Unless you meant to do it for mild humorous effect, it's a bit hypocritical/ironic.This Message Edited On 06.02.06This Message Edited On 06.02.06

I got the re-released version of this album and i really like it. Creative song titles, great sound, pretty good cd, plus remixes! And Fox83, great job on the review.

Fall Out Boy is the biggest wanna be rock band I have ever seen. They are more of a boy band then anything.
