Maybe because the drumming is ridiculously annoying, and consistently so. Even ignoring that, the album doesn't really have any redeeming factors. You have a very negative view sir. Not understanding the double bass thing, and to say this has absolutely NO redeemable factors to make up for a "bad" double bass sound is too pessimistic to bear. i get this is not your cup of tea but god damn its not an average album.

Wow, you guys have some extremely high standards in tech metal, if you don't like the album you must not be very interested in
the genre as a whole, which is understandable. Because its obvious, that "the faceless" is the best thing to happen to the genre
and if you guys don't agree your all in denial.
Of course people are gonna argue and say .."no blah blah blah, btbam are far better and beneath the massacre did this, this, and
that" But at the end of the day, "the faceless" still pummels them all into the dirt plain and simple.
Which bring me to something else, it sickens me when people assume that because a band or artist started a genre they are
automatically the best. There can be a trillion other bands that do it way better but they don't get recognition, its simply arrogant

Well actually, my view is indifferent and not negative, hence my rating. This is an album that doesn't do a single thing new, is ridiculously overbearing, and does not warrant further listening. I listened to it enough to make a judgment and I have absolutely no intention of listening to it again. Saying it isn't my cup of tea is pretty stupid as well, because you obviously have no idea how much death metal I listen to.

This is a pretty ok album but you just really can't compare this with BTBAM...maybe these guys wank more frequently but even though its "technical" metal there's still something to be said for having the ability to show some restraint and still be awesome...
