overrated? how so? Eleanor rigby is one of the most original songs of all time. the opener taxman is EXCELLENT! Ringo's best song is on this album. two of the songs peaked at #1 on the charts.
It is popier than say abbey road but its who they were then. This album is far from over rated. You cannot say any beatles album is over rates.
Music would not be the same without this album!

i'm gonna write a review about abbey road saying how it isn't as good as choirs of the eye because at least then mendigo will love me lol.
i do see some of derek's points. of the acclaimed non-early beatles records (help, rubber soul, revolver, sgt peppers, magical mystery, abbey road, and let it be, i guess) revolver is the most underwhelming
but thats entirely subjective
