Yep. Karnivool was a slow opener to me. I haven't rated this yet because I can't get a hold of this. But I'll wait a bit longer. Gonna give it few more chances. This Message Edited On 02.09.09

What do you mean by a "slow opener"? As in, it took a while for you to get used to them, but when you did, you really liked them.

Fuck. 130 dead. This is ridiculous. Plus, it's incredibly sobering to see a premier in tears and the prime minister extremely damn close. This Message Edited On 02.09.09

My heart goes out to everyone that has lost people in these fires. Truly a terrible thing to happen to anyone.

Ditto DavID. It's great to see everyone coming together and hearing of all the help that seems to be going towards those affected, including the huge amount of donations from corporations & average Joes.
|
| |
Yeah it really is great to see, everyone genuinly cares about each other, and everyone is donating.

Your situation really sucks, are they just dieing from exhaustion due to heat or what?
Either way, RIP to those unfortunates.

No DaveyBoy I ment that the CD case was stuck and it took like three hours to pick it open... ... Nah. It took many casual listens before Karnivool actually mesmerized me. But then it was like all the pieces of the puzzle just fell into their places.

Hahaha... those darn cd cases can be bothersome sometimes. LOL! I'll pay that ShatteredSoul. I was just making sure that's what you meant. I guess many proggier & more technical acts are like that; They're not exactly high on accessibility... As opposed to Birds of Tokyo for the most part; The first time I heard 'Silhouettic', I absolutely loved it.
Nah Ross, from what I have been reading, most who have died have either (a) stayed to protect their homes & just got engulfed, or (b) tried to escape the fire by car or other means & simply got caught/trapped. Very very sad.

yup this is quite awesome, well except for White Witch. I don't like that track.

Good to hear you liked the album Jingledeath. It seems 'White Witch' is getting picked on quite a fair bit, which is a bit surprising. I actually thought the unashamedly mainstream lyrics & melody of 'Head In My Hands' may be the song to get singled out.

except for White Witch. I don't like that track.
Really?? It is the only track i have heard so far and I liked it a lot.
|

Heard a few more random tracks and White Witch is still my fave, really considering getting this though as all the tracks I have heard were pretty good. Also I think the album artwork is awesome.

Why did you hear 'White Witch' first Ross? Gee, I put down recommended tracks for you and everything! ;-)

the song isn't really bad but I just don't like the chorus and yeah I'd say Head In My Hands is the weakest track after White Witch. All the others are great.

Yeah, Ross, the fires were so intense and fast-burning that most people actually were burnt to death, rather than heat exhaustion or smoke inhaling. Except one poor girl who found refuge in a spa and was sucked under water by a faulty bubbler. =/ Horrible way to go.
