I have heard the debut, but just haven't bought it yet. But I can only full experience how good an album is when I have it in physical form. For now, this one has the slight preference, but that could change when I have The Back Room.

Oi Champ Kind, have you read any of my latest reviews?

Also, when are these guys putting out a new one?

Adam thinks Davey has written better reviews but agrees pretty much with everything he said. Lift Your Head is one of my favourite tracks though, so mellow and calming. I laik this album.

Nice review, makes me want to give the album another try.

I was a bit underwhelmed by it and the lyrics seemed lacking.

I'm not sure I agree with your comments regarding "Smokers". It was a breakthrough hit for them in the UK and is a great song.

Yeah DavID, I have been reading your reviews. I even contributed an early comment to your latest if you recall. The Gurrumul one; I thought you had already posted previously for some silly reason, while I skimmed the Lily Allen one at the time of posting because I was crazy busy at work at the time.

Adam needs to stop talking about himself in the 3rd person... LOL. And I don't know of any song titled 'Lift Your Head', although I think I know which you mean. If so, I can't say I really agree with you, but to each their own and come the end of the day, we agree on this album's rating.

BLUEBLAH, thanks for the "nice review" comment. With regards to the lyrics on this album, I think they can go either way. Hence why I listed those 2 lines in the review which I believe could really be liked by some listeners and disliked by others.

As for 'Smokers', I don't think it is what I would call a mainstream hit. It's a very good song, but I wonder if they would have had more success with either the title track or 'The Racing Rats' as the lead single. I know they were eventually released as singles, but it is usually the lead single which will get the leg up so to speak prior to the release of an album. I guess we will never know.

I prefer your longer reviews Davey, but this one is still pretty solid.

as for the Maiden stuck in your head, that was probably my fault :D

I nearly bought this yesterday, but got some Converge instead. I'll probably get it sometime though. Good review as per usual.

Adam, that sounded like a good chorus for a techno song. It's got #1 worldwide hit written all over it if you can add a funky beat!

Thanks Ross. I guess I'm trying to find the happy middle ground regarding the lengths of my reviews. And yes, it was your fault that I got "6 - 6 - 6... The Number of the beast" stuck in my head". A week or so ago... & now. Damn It!

Thanks Ali. Shall we be expecting a Converge review from your good self?

Nah, I don't tend to review bands unless I'm familiar with the majority of their stuff.

Yeah, that's a wise way to go I reckon and is a reason why I review discographies a lot of the time. At least there is a consistency about the reviews that way as well as a deeper knowldege of the relevant band's music.

well last night i kissed my ex-girlfriend, got into a fight and lost my wallet, so coherence wasn't really to be expected. i don't even have an opinion regarding the subtle moments of AEHAS. although i was clearly conscious enough to be able to use the acronym haha.

My reviews attract all the drunks!

Funnily enough, I wasn't exactly sober when I was reading your message... It still did not make sense though.

Did you at least win the fight Adam?

This album is very average... nothing stood out to me. I think I liked The Back Room slightly more.
