"Absence of Truth is underrated, that’s my fav followed by Panopticon, then this and Oceanic basically tied for 3rd best."
Agreed, at first, I wasn't a fan of it, however, after multiple listens over the past months, It has definitely grown on me and enjoy it a lot more than I used to.

"Not for me bro. I don't dig the free improv super sludge fest."
I like Sumac, but I can see why others don't. Old Man Gloom is on a whole different level, though. Try listening to Seminar III: Zozobra and the Ape of God albums, specially part II; they are the closest to Isis you'll ever get. "A Hideous Nightmare Lies Upon the World/Arrow to Our Hearts" even have cleans from Aaron Turner, which is a rare feat outside of later Isis.

Both Ape of God albums are so good, some of the best records in OMG's discography.

Already after the first few listens many months ago this one was a clear 4.5 album for me. It still is. Wonderful atmospheres, excellently structured songs. Almost on par with Panopticon (same with Oceanic).
Most songs on it have really beautiful ethereal passages.
Also I'm thankful I found the japan-only bonus track "Way Through woven Branches", amazing song.
Song rating:
1. Hall Of The Dead 4.7
2. Ghost Key 4.7
3. Hand Of The Host 4.8
4. Wavering Radiant 4.1 (It's very good, but from the short ones they did Maritime is my favourite)
5. Stone To Wake A Serpent 4.4
6. 20 Minutes / 40 Years 4.8
7. Threshold Of Transformation 4.7
8. Way Through Woven Branches 4.3
